BC hydro is calling for new renewable electricity generation sources to keep up with the growing demand in the province. The proposed project must have a minimum 25% equity ownership by one or more First Nations and should realistically be completed before 2031. We are excited to partner with interested First Nations who would like to participate in the program by installing a solar PV system. Together we will be entering into an Electricity Purchase Agreement with BC Hydro to sell electricity to the grid.

BC hydro is calling for business to help during high demand load periods by designating 4-hour long event periods. Businesses who register for the Demand Response Time program will be notified 12 hours before high electricity demand events. Shifting at least 5% of your typical usage to before or after the event with renewable energy will earn you rewards worth $50/average kW demand reduction.

BC Hydro is supporting businesses who are interested in purchasing and installing Energy Storage Systems (ESS). This program allows BC Hydro to dispatch your ESS automatically to shift your incoming power from the grid over to your storage system, effectively reducing the load on the grid during peak times. Your business can apply and nominate a battery capacity amount, Businesses total eligible will be based on the following calculations: $10,000 X kW nominated $10,000 X kWh/4 nominated 80% of eligible project costs.

Businesses are eligible for up to $25,000 for solar installations and another $25,000 for battery storage installations—up to $50,000 in total.

Multi-family buildings are eligible for up to $25,000 for solar installations and another $25,000 for battery storage installations—up to $50,000 in total.

Social Houses are eligible for up to $75,000 for solar installations and another $75,000 for battery storage installations—up to $150,000 in total.

Purchases of a solar PV system, including wiring controllers and inverters can be exempt from PST tax in British Columbia.

Clean BC is offering multiple incentives for businesses who want to incorporate EV chargers into their properties. You can receive up to $3000 for EV ready plans, up to $120,000 for EV ready infrastructure and up to $14,000 for EV chargers. You must be approved by your hydro company before buying and installing any equipment.

Large commercial and industrial businesses can receive rebates of up to 75% for private use solar equipment that reduces demand on the grid. Distribution customers can receive up to $1,000,000 while transmission customers can receive up to $5,000,000

Indigenous Communities are eligible for up to $75,000 for solar installations and another $75,000 for battery storage installations—up to $150,000 in total.
